When I was in elementary school, my grandmother passed away. In the past, Grandmother loved me the most. I wasn't able to rule out my sorrow, every day, I ran around the schoolyard multiple times until I collapse to the ground, crying into the grass.

The painful days lasted a long time, Mom and Dad didn't even know how to calm me down. They know lying to me that Grandmother had fallen asleep is not better than telling me: Grandmother will never come back.

"What is never coming back?" I asked.

"Everything in time will never back. Your yesterday will always be yesterday, you can never go back to yesterday. A while ago, Dad was as small as you, now I can't go back to your age. One day when you grow up, you will be as old as Grandmother, one day to will have lived your entire life, and will never be able to come back." said Dad.

What Dad said was pretty much a riddle, this riddle is scarier than "you can use time to buy gold, but you can't use gold to buy time."

After that, every day I come back from school, I sit in my family's porch watching the sun sink inch by inch into the mountain, I would know that the day is really over. Although tomorrow there will be a new sun, it will never be the same sun as today.

I saw the birds fly into the sky, they fly so fast. Tomorrow when they will fly the same route, it will never be today. Or tomorrow the birds that fly in the sky is not old birds, it's young birds.

time goes by so fast, it makes my little heart not only stressed but also sorrowful. One day when I come back from school, I saw that the sun was almost set, I decided to say to myself: "I will be faster than the sun.". I raced to my house, when I stood on the porch, trying to catch my breath, I saw that the sun is still halfway above the mountain, I cheered. That day when I beat the sun. After that, I often do that game, sometimes against the sun, or against the northern wind. I also sometimes finish homework for the entire summer in ten days. At that time, I was in third grade, and I often take my fifth-grade brother's homework.

In the twenty years after that, I try really hard. Although I know that humans can never beat time, but you can always be a step ahead, if you push harder, sometimes you can be multiple steps ahead. The steps could be really tiny, but the usefulness in big.

If I have anything to tell my kids, I will tell them: "If you keep racing against time, you would succeed.".
